Culver City Democrats Endorse Measure CL

(July 27, 2025) – The members of the Culver City Democratic Club have voted to endorse Measure CL.
Ballots are arriving now for an all vote-by-mail election which ends August 26. Mark yours “yes,” then drop it in the mail, at one of the ballot boxes located at the public library, Culver West Alexander Park, and the Fox Hills Parklett, or at City Hall during business hours.
Measure CL will raise the local sales tax to the maximum allowed by the state: an increase of 0.25%. This means an additional twenty-five cents tax on every $100 spent in Culver City.
This money will go to the City’s General Fund, which supports just about every City service except the bus. Cuts are likely if CL does not pass.
It is also likely that LA County or the LA Metropolitan Transit Agency will ask for this 0.25% in a future election unless Culver City claims it first.
All five Culver City Council Members voted to put CL on the ballot and no argument against it was filed with the City. There is no organized opposition. It’s a small amount to pay - an extra dollar on every $400 - and if we don’t vote to give it to the City now, we will be giving it to another, less local government soon.
Please take a minute to show your support for our city. Every vote counts.
The Culver City Democratic Club has been the voice of westside Democrats since 1952. All registered Democrats are eligible to join. For more information visit c-c-d-c.com
